Avro Lancaster Mk III Aircraft Mug

Designed by Roy Chadwick the Avro Lancaster entered service in 1942 and rapidly became one of the most successful night bombers of World War II. Famously used on the ‘Dambuster’ raid (Operation Chastise) modified Lancasters of 617 Squadron droped the ‘Upkeep’ mines destroying dams in the Ruhr velley. Today only two remain airworthy as a tribute to those who flew under bomber command.
